GO Tools

The Mission

The purpose of the Go Tools Project is:

To encourage, develop, and distribute open-source software and tools related to the game of go.

To maintain a set of links to other go-related open-source development projects and resources.

Read the Go Tools project announcement.

The Tools

If you have (or know of) an open-source go-related project, please contact me. I would be happy to either host your project here or provide a link to it.

SGF Summarizer: sgfsummary.py

Reads multiple SGF (Smart Game Format) files, specifically those recording Go/WeiQi/Baduk games, and summarizes their game information, suitable for importing into a spreadsheet or database package for storage and manipulation.

Version: 1.0. OS: Any. Language: Python. Licenses: GPL, LGPL & zlib/libpng.

Smart Game Format Parser Library: sgflib.py

For Python programmers, sgflib.py is a module containing a parser and classes for SGF, the Smart Game Format. Also included is the module typelib.py, which emulates Python built-in data types as classes. These modules are included in the SGF Summarizer, so if you download that, there's no need to download this separately.

Scripts for Outlook Express Macintosh Edition

"Save SGF Files...", "Save SGF Files As...", these scripts are for saving game records sent in the body of E-mail messages by go servers (as IGS and NNGS do). Sets the file type & creator for the Smart Go Board application.

Version: 1.0. OS: MacOS. Language: AppleScript. License: GPL.

SGF E-Mail Filter

An applet for extracting an SGF file from a text file, discarding e-mail headers and prefatory text, and setting the file type & creator for the Smart Go Board application.
